Christmas in Uppingham

The festive season in this beautiful town really kicks off with our annual Late Night Shopping and Entertainment event, Christmas in Uppingham. In the Market Place, Rutland Radio lead the countdown to the Christmas Lights switch on by our Mayor – a perfect start to a great evening for residents and visitors. Our wonderful shops promise a warm welcome, staying open until 9pm. Street performers, stilt-walkers and fire-eaters entertain and delight. Hot food and drink are available from the stalls in the High Street – after all what is Christmas shopping without some mulled wine… and a pizza, or burger, or hog-roast?

For the children there is a skate rink in the Market Place, Father Christmas visits our grotto in the Church and his reindeer are stabled in Mercer’s Yard.

The Town Hall plays host to a craft and gift fair where you can stock up on more Christmas presents, and venues throughout the town put on music and entertainment.
